welcome!
you could sort out something pretty reasonable for that price. i'd look into converting an old road bike.
you should be able to track down an old 531 frame on ebay/gumtree/maybe here. i got one on ebay for 40 quid a while ago.
just don't search for "fixed" "track" "fixie" "pista" etc. things with those words in the title always end up more expensive than things listed as "road" or "racing", even for the same product. -

Just thought that you should try some refuse centres. No idea where you'd find them in London the one in my home town is on the outskirts of some industrial estate. Police auctions too - might be lucky.

If you're in newcastle try recycle-a-bike at the bottom of shields road. They should be able to hook you up with something for not a lot of money. Welcome to the forum !

hi
i have just joined after having a look through forum for abit.
im new to the fixie road/track bike game, this year i will be commutating to uni everyday so this gives me a excuse to build another bike, to add to my 2 mountain bikes and bmx.
my budget for the whole bike is around 250ish (not alot i know)but to try and keep the cost down i have decided i want to rescue a good quility frame instead of buying some cheep crap not really right for the job and make a real project out of it and i will make a thread showing how i transform it . rusty or cracked or stuck seatpost or whatever i have the skills to sort it out in theory haha .
so if anyone has a tired old frame they would sell? (ill put a wanted add up in the right section)
feel free to point out any old frames i might of missed
thanks jay
