the fastest I've ever seen a commuter ride is around 40-42kmh, steady, from Tower Bridge to Greenwich. I followed him all the way down (and the guy in front knew it), tongue-out, but it was nuts as he was jumping lights as well. Including traffic, averaging (incl stops) in excess of 35kmh is pretty impossible without a death wish. Tho if anyone wants to slap on a camera and prove me wrong, I'd love to see it!
