my view : the price of an item is determined by the amount people are willing to pay for it. it's a free market, so he can charge whatever he wants. if people are willing to pay those prices, then he shouldn't be held liable for their foolishness.
i also dont buy the 'exploiting people' argument - there are plenty of better quality ss bikes on the market for cheaper. all you need to do is shop around.
