Do whatever you want to it. I just think if you do convert it to fixed wheel, don't remove any original features or brazeons, etc.

I'd say it's best for a bike to be ridden so if converting it to fixed is what needs to be done for that to happen then do it.
Nice frame btw.

Hasslehoff kills puppies. Here's him in Kit running over the two pictured above.

Convert it. Just don't cut the braze-ons off. That way you can always go back to gears or sell it someone who wants to.
If it means that it's gonna get used then go for it. The world has too many puppies anyway.

Did I kill a bus load of puppies by buying that frame or something?

At the risk of sounding stupid, as it has been referred to many times on this forum. What the hell is all this puppy killing thing? Is it a reference to ultra-bling bikes?

when you convert a road bike, people say you kill puppies, why? no idea.
I know people that say that when you light a cigarette with a candle, a sailor is dronw, stupid, I know, maybe this is the same

don't ever cut your braze ons off, it's like throwing weed down the toilet when your stoned and promising yourself you'll never ever want another joint.

Goddamn it! I was so stoked on this frame and had bid £81 so you beat me to it. I think it's awesome. A bit of sanding by the bb and don't touch anyting else.So cool to have a bike with such a history and a 'patina' (very antiques road show) but it's true. A frame that shows it's history looks so much better than something newly resprayed. I'm just pissed that that's exactly why I couldn't bid again against you... although my new crisp 531 ?brand? is cool but not as classic. Cheers.

Oh and if you fancy the sugino 75 crankset I would have slapped on the rotrax, make me an offer. I guess it's a 9/10 - decals a little scuffed but 100% otherwise. 50t.

any road bike is fine, no puppy killing is required, like those Peugeot, Raleight, etc. road frame but when I (and other) see someone transform a really rare, unique frame, especially a hand-made lightweight one being use for something that it's not designed for, it's killing puppies (especially when they're modifying the frame, i.e. cutting off the braze-ons).

this is such a beautiful bike (just had a look again), time to wash the bike and then Brasso it up.
that would make a big difference, don't ever paint it, just clean the bike and brasso it up as much as you can to make it look as if it roll out of the production line like that.

experience.
I won this yesterday:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140236416729
I think it looks great.
My friend used to live in Southampton and actually met the framebuilder. He said "IMO Rotrax were like the equivalent of Colnago (or any other beautiful high-end Italian frame)"
Would using this frame for a fixed project do it justice, or should I go for an all-vintage campag-out restoration?
Cheers guys
