I'm sorry to hear about it lucky - esp considering it's happened twice! I've had a few bad encounters while filtering in traffic - sometimes you have to ride on the inside of cars, either that or come to a halt or ride on the pavement. I've become very wary of junctions, especially in traffic, to the point where I slow down a little in anticipation.
Swerving left while braking is the best option, i've found. If you notice the potential accident happening early enough, you can pull off an impressive skid, give the driver a look of contempt, inform him that he should smoke less cock, as he appears to be going blind, then nonchalantly ride off no-handed.*
