I think God may be telling me to go brakeless

i was quite impressed with how quickly you can stop with decent road brakes

It is truly mind-blowing. If I think about the design of rim brakes (thin cable, anchor bolt, little bits of rubber, small contact patch on the road) it seems highly unlikely that such a thing could stop you so abruptly, and yet with such a lot of feedback and room for miniscule modulations on the part of the user.

There's a song by cLOUDdEAD that says, "physics of a bicycle, isn't it remarkable?" - oh yes.
