Went out today for the first time with my local cycling club. Hmmm... got there and asked what the pace would be like, at which point got looked at and comment muttered "not very fast, have you seen what he's riding" (the shame of the Langster). Then got told off about my slack chain from some old boy! Later into the ride the group split as a couple of blokes speeded up to 23-25mph. F*cking hurt but managed to stay on the back for the whole 60 miles, despite dropping others. Made me think if it was worth the bother, and why cycling fails to attract newbies....
