Why just straight men? I know plenty of gay people who need kicking into touch every now and again and wouldn't care if it came from a stong male or female friend.

I suppose I was thinking more the interaction between a man and a woman in a relationship together, hence straight. As it's largely straight men who create and maintain an imbalance in power between the sexes. But sure the truth coming from a friend, whatever their sex, or your sexual orientation, can also be useful.
