  • I have the fender from Fast Boy Cycles - it's fantastic quality, he only made those for a while, and then focus on building bike, so I kinda got a nice rarity, cost a bit thiught.

  • My new (second hand) ride:

    My extremely beautiful mug:

  • hahah! Nice one Hars.

  • tommy?...

  • Hi everyone.

Just joined the forum - although I'm from Cambridge, I do seem to spend far too much time browsing this site...

Built up my first fixed gear bike last holiday (still a student...). Frame is an old Elswick Lincoln Imp - the same as Sheldon Brown (RIP) had I believe. Wheels were my first attempt at wheelbuilding but they seem to be holding up fine so far. Haven't broken-in that saddle yet either.

(Is there much going on in Cambridge? Seen a few fixed bikes out and about but not that many - or maybe it's just the crap weather!)

  • another skier eh?
on the vt by any chance?
know a guy called calum, a girl called george and another two guys called Nik (tomanovic) and Robert (middleton)?

  • Yup. That photo was actually taken on a family holiday, but I was on VT. Don't know those guys though - there were quite a few people on VT! (I'm from Pembroke btw)

Hey mate, spotted your bike around cambridge a couple of times (i parked my blue & pink daccordi up next to it a few days back in the eng dept, it looked pretty new!). There's a bit of stuff that goes on here, a few guys meet thursdays at 6pm by the maypole and go for rides around the villages. I'm going to head down for the first time this week hopefully, as at last I will have finished my fucking work.

Check this thread for more info:

  • Yeah, that's definately mine...

I didn't notice yours though, so either I'm blind, or you left before me!

I think I'll wait 'till after exams before I go on any thursday rides, so maybe in a couple of weeks.

JOHN! I have a lincoln imp too
I am, alas, living in london so our imps will never cross paths, although its great to hear about another imp still being ridden.
I'm still cleaning mine up and stuff, but i may have some pictures up in a week or two, but my frame looks identical to yours apart from it has a light blue detail, not yellow

and also, did you get it re-painted? (if so where/how much etc.)

    cheers

  • Amazing - another one! I'd be interested to see some pics when you have them.

I didn't get it re-painted, I touched up a few small chips in the paint myself, but the paint was in pretty good nick overall. It's missing a few details though - it should have thin white lines on most tubes, and imp decals on the forks (which unfortunately had rubbed off).

Indeed, if anyone knows how to get custom decals then let me know, as it would be nice to re-apply some of them.

    John

  • time spent forum browsing = time required for revision

  • BAPE?! Pfffffffff! ;-)

  • Oi! Leave it! ;)

  • HA! Yeah forgot your into them too! I'd rather wear Nicks, Simod or HiTec than BAPE! ;-)

  • but look how neat he is!
I do hope that you don't leave your bike there usuallly robbie.
and t looks better as a fixed gear.

haha, many skiers in here, eh? ;)
if you haven't been skiing in austria yet, move your ass to our mountains :D

  • HA! Yeah forgot your into them too! I'd rather wear Nicks, Simod or HiTec than BAPE! ;-)

Nothing better than a free pair of BAPEs.

Got them from a buddy whos buddy work in the BAPE store in HK. If they are fake, well they are good ones. I prefer my Dunks, but they suck ass for cycling (too wide), so am sticking to converse and tigers for this clips malarky. With my second build for the states, I got some egg beaters c's and Adidas Cyclones.

Moving to the states in a month, so am working out how I am gonna take this with me.

Don't worry about the bike being on the door. It was for the photo, and other angle of the room would have shown the mess. I love my Godzilla poster which I found in my college common room. It came with some paper about a month ago.
