I had white soyo grips on my last bike, very rough on the hands. I'm using these baby blue champ grips now, more comfortable to handle but too thin.

Actually the champs I want in white only come in 2mm - so they are both the same thickness

the champs are softer on the hands, but still grip well. I'd go for them mate. soyo grips are hand rape!!

That's what HubJub said

not to mention a complete bastard to put in.
thought hairspray make the job so much easier to put in, BLB sell them cheaper for 9.99.

Hey Jonent (Jon) that was my bike with the purple grips locked next to yours outside Tesco yesterday. Great Mercian. Mine is still a work in progress...
2mm is fine - i tend to wear gloves

I always see fixed bikes outside Tesco.... I lock up next to a Main and come out and I'm now next to a colnago or something!

I've used Soyos and they are hard.
Hard on hands, and hard to get-on (hairspray is a must as said above).
I've recently been riding with mitts and I'm finding my Ourys have almost too much cushioning. I want to feel more through the bars.

A bit of washing up liquid and warm water will ease them on perfectly :)

Nah, hairspray is the way, the best thing about them is that not only it's slippery when it's wet, but once it's dry, it's stick like a limpet.
the downside is that you do have to be a bit quick...

I have Champ 2mm, just be careful if/when you put the bike down or against a wall withought much care as they tend to split at the edge - mine did anyway

Champ's much better, Soyo's too rough.

What hand moisturizers do you guys complaining about the soyos being to rough use?
I use them and find them nice and gripy.another tip for putting the grips on, stick them in the hot water cubboard once you get them on they dry out and stick on really fast.

thanks . . .
now i need to know what size i need lol -

4 mm are super nice, they take some of the bumps out of the road.
As Ved said, Will @ HJ, super nice guy, hit him up.

cavendish is the place to go, ask when they're getting their next EAI shipment.
4mm champs are nice but are only available in black. 2mm are fine for the bottom of drops, but not so good for risers.

cavendish aint got clear 1s . . .
thanks email him already . . .
Soyo - 2mm thick
Champ - squidgy 4mm thick
I know people with both.... Dale has/had Soyo on the blue polo bike and they were really hard, but I wear gloves... saw some purple Champs on a bike locked next to my Mecian outside the Tescos at Islington Green.
So, which one is the best? I need to let Will at HubJub know asap as they are ordering them in tonight
