I spend to much on bikes.. and I dumpster lots of parts.. so it's kind of weird that I'd feel the need to spend that much :)
Yesterday I found a nice all new bike bag (one of those 3-part to put over the luggage rack) someone threw out.. nice, since I was just about to buy one of those :) -

it's not really so smart to ask a forum of bike geeks what's reasonable to spend on a bike. most of us have more than one bike, a lot of us have a few frames lying around that we're in the process of building up. spend what you can afford, keeping in mind that it's something that you'll use every day.
