I know the guys at BC pretty well, and I can't say that I recognise them in this description.
Maybe thats because your the one chatting away with them whilst i wait to be served? (joke!)
I have no opinion one way or the other on BC, been in there numerous times, never been blown away, and never been pissed off by them, though they did patch me up along time ago when i messed myself up in the bowl, so props to them for that.
But thats my point, if someone got arsey about my LBS then i would defend it, but the fact is everyone has their off days, and smaller shops who are matey with their regulars tend to polarise customers more than larger stores as it is easy to ignore cutomers without realising it. I spent 4+ years working in snowboard and skate shops all over the world, and the fact is you win some you loose some when it comes to customer service.
Whats important to me is how a shop responds to the issue, which from what i can tell why shops Like BLB have a bad name, and shops like BC a loyal following.

sorry - you don't give a shit if a shop's busy at the weekend and will go in anyway?
Nope - I'll probably end up buying whatever I need at Wiggle instead...
I just don't appreciate people using the whole weekend/busy thing as an excuse. To borrow a phrase - HTFU - it's the weekend - people are off work and will be coming by in their droves. Shops know this and they need to be prepared - if they want their business to survive.
But anyway, I'm digressing...

yeah, but if you go in, it's frickin' busy and full of lamers looking for the wrong bottom bracket. you get caught out and all cross with the smarmy man.

You should either email Brixton Cycles with your comments and then wait for their reply, or keep shtum.
Everyone gets things wrong, give them the opportunity to address your complaints. Don't just start slagging in public, without giving them the right of reply.
That's what I said above, that's what I meant.

Tell me about it - that's why I don't shop at Primera Sport for my geared stuff. Unless you walk in wearing a head to toe Assos gimp suit, they're not interested.

no one would be complaining if he was shitting on tesco.
its a bit like reviewing restaurants online- he received rubbish service and now he is sharing that experience. he is not attacking your neat little lbs...

If me had gone to a modern caring corporate like Evans in the first place, none of this would've happened.
If you want consistently good service, and a wide range of high quality products, it's Evans every time. I've learnt that through similar experiences with these independent no-hopers, but life's been nothing but a bed of roses since showing some loyalty to the yellow 'n' green.

it's all about the halfords these days, they be lickin' it clean.

Wow, you're either trolling or you take what's being written on an interweb forum far, far, too personally. I think a little perspective is called for...
The simplest thing you can do 'in real life' is give BC a quick call on 020 7733 6055. Speak to whoever answers about what has happened, how you feel about it, and that you'd at the very least like an apology.
Either that or seriously HTFU.
;p

I think it's good that you put it on a public forum. It's their fault they did bad service let them deal with the consequences of the modern age.
Heaven knows my company has had to deal with the bad press that BLB has got on here (we did run their website) as it was getting high google hits for super, super negative comments. All comments which are completely valid on the public stage. It damaged my business (more significantly than I thought) but in the end it was right that they be held accountable for thei actions by a majoity rather than be given the oppertunity to oblige behind closed doors (i.e. having a letter sent to them, they apologise, and then do it again to someone else!)

Dear me (I love the sound of that),
I'm afraid I have to disagree with the respected CorneliusBlackfoot and dogsballs, and agree with Sano, vinylvillain and BuffaloBill. I have never heard anything but great praise for Brixton Cycles, and I even popped into it years ago and bought a few bits (when it was across from the Ritzy cinema - long ago), however if a customer walks in and is treated like warm receptacle for copulation, then I think the shop deserves that people know that a bad day at the office happened to one of their staff. Even reading some incidents on this forum, has shown me that bike shops pay attention to what is said here. They pay alot of attention indeed. So I feel that me is right to express himself here.
A forum is for expression. Why deny me that right? Many here think I'm a twat, and you're absolutely right, I am. But I won't pay AND take shit service. It may be a one off, and it won't put me off from going in there, but if I'm treated like a sperm-and-egg conjoining device, I'll say so here, or whereever I like. I don't think I need to go into it at the shop, because I could lose my cool, especially if the staff are condescending. All I can say is, well done me. Those who don't like that can throttle me, or go home and strangle your members. -

To be blunt, I don't give a shit. Sounds harsh maybe, but any shop worth their salt will not only make sure they have enough staff to cover what will undoubtedly be busy periods, but if they want to maintain their reputation they'll make sure even the weekend staff are polite and knowledgeable.
Wishful thinking I know, but like a lot of people I work during the week, so unless I'm lucky enough to "work from home" for a day, I'm not going to have the luxury of popping by at a time when the shop's likely to be less busy.
To be blunt you sound like a cumplete cock smoker.
My post offered take it or leave it advice. I don't expect everyone to bow down to my experienced opinion, just digest it.
I hope you never darken my door you fucking decon.
