I've got these: http://wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=cycle&ProdID=5360032439&N=Specialized%20Sport%20MTB%20Shoes
Perfectly walkable. I have them on when I ride to the pub and walk to and from bike store at uni, no problems. Really comfy riding, too.
Re the sandals... I wouldn't, if you brake with your legs. I wouldn't trust the straps to hold me in tightly. I don't get sandals on a bike in general... if you come off, your feet will surely get shredded to bits?

I've got some 182s coming, like most reasonable "race" type mtb shoes they have a stiff sole for a stable pedalling platform and power transfer.
so they won't be like trainers to walk in, but most people don't find it a problem.
the fn50s are a softer option, but your cleat will scrape on the ground with those I think.
as for sandals, you seen the weather out there?

eeehhhh: discontinued in my size (at least at wiggle), and they don't have the micro-adjust straps I want :) but thanks for the tip.
RPM: I have MT40's atm.. and they are okay to walk in, I'm just not sure about the soles on the 182's, they seem very off-road'ish (for obvious reasons i know).. I guess I will get them anyway eventually..
As for sandals, well, it's not always raining.... at least not here in Denmark.

Just noticed Shimano RT51, http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25360
Anyone tried those? sadly they don't have the micro-adjust straps.

specialized Taho mtb shoes are very walkable.

too bad the tahos looks like shit. i'm still looking for a decent looking walkable pair of shoes myself. i have a pair of Diadoras and a pair of s-work and i can't walk for shit in either one of them. i made the mistake of wearing the Diadoras to school once and left my trainers in my other bag.
I've had bad luck in general with shimano shoes though. they don't sem to last and they fit like ass.

How come you want the micro-adjust straps? I steered clear of them - looked like more stuff to break - and I tend to just really tighten up my straps when I'm riding and loosen them for walking.
Emoxfag - if the shimano ones don't fit well try specialized. I think the body geometry ones are designed for people with wider feet, which I remember reading is British/Americans or Europeans in general.

But are they good? :)
I am waiting on a pair I ordered. I read a good a review on here somewhere. I think that eyebrows recommended them.

Uhm.. can't find any my size anyway.. (47 normal, 48 shimano).
I'm going to order a pair of RT51's for touring/longer trips and MT70's for the rainy days.. it's only money, and money is just something you use (that's why you never have money) -

The M180s are good for the price, but as people have said, MTB shoes with ratchet straps are a bot more performance orintated and so will have stiffer soles. My M180s were a bit less stiff than my SIDI Dominators but there's not much difference. The older M180s also had slightly fragile ratchet mechanisms. I broke one on a car bumper, but people who use them off road seem to break a few more. The fit of the Shimanos is good if you have narrow feet.

I had a friend who used them for some cycle touring. said they weren't bad.
I use cheap shimano MTB shoes. -

For the hippies.... :)
Hey,
I looking to get new shoes, and i really like the micro-adjust straps some of the Shimano-shoes feature.. however i would like to have shoes not too "bling", but more black-ish.. also they'd have to be walkable. I did try on some sidis, but they are a bit too hard to walk in if you ask me.
Anyone use the M182's or tried them?
How about FN50? they are "indoor"-shoes so i assume the soles would wear quite quickly when used outdoors?
Oh, and did anyone try riding fixed/no brakes with the SPD sandals?
