£200 buys you a shit hot frame on ebay if you wanna convert and kill the small dogz.
also will prob get you a track frame.
thing is i don't want to go through the hassle of building myself another fixie again that all, I use my bike almost everyday, the longest I've been without riding is 3 days, three days.

well, get a fuji then.
and it's not a hassle, really, it takes a couple of hours to knock a bike together.

Just sent Jos a msg asking what happend to the bike,
And an e-mail to LCEF about getting them the balance
i had been waiting to see if there were medical bills we
needed to pay first (or actually if there was going to be more money from
re selling the bike if it was possible). As for being scamed or swindled ? don't you have something more constructive to do like complain about bike shop service.
This thing was not my idea or Jos's really. Jos made a statement that we all got a lil carried away with. However i did waste a few hours of my life sorting out and tracking payments and building up the bike. Not to mentioned risking my life riding it across london.
The end resault you all made a donation that will goto the LCEF so that when one of your fellow riders gets hit they will be able to by some baked beans from tesco to keeping them going .while they are unable to ride to earn enough to buy their own. (the ones that paid atleast) -

thanks for dealing with it Scrapper, I don't think the guys were being serious about scamming.
we appreciate your time and effort
-
• #365
Like RPM said.
No one here is being serious about being scammed for a few quid, I think there is just a genuine curiosity/interested about how things turned out. :)
*and can we afford sandwiches and biscuits for Jos's wake ?

I know this is a bit late but I got an old Canon camcorder (those small tape 'digital' one) before those HD bollocks came along.
still need a camcorder to document the shitty bike?

People.
To be honest. I haven't collected the bike yet so no verdict there. I all sounded like a good laugh etc but all the people that I have spoken to that had actually seen the thing convinced me that it was a no no.
As some of you might know I'm preparing for the elite race at the smithfield nocturnce next weekend and at the moment I have better things to do then to break a bike (or myself....).
I am however more then happy to give it a proper road test after the 7th of June. Hope everybody that donated can live with this.
At the moment I guess the bike is still with the people from FixedgearLondon so god knows what the state of the thing is by now if they have touched it. Every part powdercoated at armourtex to coordinate ;)
On the other hand maybe we can do a sort of group testing thingy after I've used it for one day. Like with Top Gear (ow shit offcourse nobody on here watches that....) where they tested the Toyota pick up truck.
I dunno but appreciate your input. Bottom line is that I don't wanna break my neck (and specially not before the 7th.)
Greetings, Jos

On behalf of the LCEF, can I just thank everyone who gave money to this. The London Courier Emergency Fund relies entirely on donations of this sort to support injured bicycle messengers. Including Jos, if he breaks his neck on that thing.
As I said via email, theres a paypal link on the front page at www.lcef.org.uk , and thats probably the easiest way to send us money.
Thanks again for the donation. You guys are amazing..

Ideal would be to see Jos win the Nocturne ON the Unipack, but I think that may be a dream too far, this season!
