  • what would people suggest is the best way to chop bars down accurately and neatly

I cant remember where but i remember someone mentioning a 1" tube cutter?
    has anyone tried this ?

    cheers

  • pipe cutter

  • go to your LBS and see if they have a jig for cutting threadless steerers, I am sure they would let you use it for free if you asked nicely, and possibly supplied the hacksaw. OCW has a Park Tools one I used, and it work a treat.

    Measure twice. Cut once

  • builders merchant for a pipe cutter good for copper should work on steel / alu

  • can you pick up pipe cutters pretty easily?

  • Whereabouts are you? I'm dropping a pair off at my mate's shop - Happy Bikes on the Walworth Road, as he's got a big cutter thing...

  • i have a cutting guide, hacksaw and file here in Dalston

    £5

3-30mm adjustable cutter or get the 6-50mm then you can do steerers too.

  • im in peck-narm ... gotta address exactly how much i want taken off what with a diatech and long grips going on ...i should imagine not all that much..

  • Let me know, I'm seeing Happy Ed on Friday at the pub on to give him my bars (which I've etched / marked at the cutting points). PM me if you want me to give him yours too and we can sort something out.
