you not buy American then fella? As far as I am aware, howies still use the same people, timberland just add marketing clout to the brand being the parent company? It does not affect the quality of the gear.
Well, I was very happy, especially after returning the womens cut top I bought by mistake!! The men's medium is much less figure hugging ha ha.

I'd agree with that - it's got to the point where even their sale stuff is way out of my league. I appreciate the ethical approach, but it's hard to justify the spend sometimes - I mean, I'll never spend £60 on a shirt when I can get one down the market for £40-50 less than that, only it doesn't come with the organic/recycled/ethical tags attached. It's a shame because I do believe in that ethos, but just as I can't always afford organic milk for 20p more than non-organic, it's the same when it comes to clothing.
That said, the prices were good when I popped by on Sunday, and was tempted by one of their blue softshells, but was more tempted by the Opie flip-flops than most of the stuff on the Howies stand.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the e-mail I got from Howies said it was a sample sale. Why is it then that most of the stuff there was seconds, returns, faulty, misprinted, shrunk or ripped?

i went to an addict sample sale on brick lane and the stuff was all one season early trials, so the sizing might have been a bit funny or t-shirts that might not have gone into production.
everything was decent quality, as long as you found something that fitted it was a bargain.
got a jacket which i love which is a one off. fits great, well made, 30 quid, addict jackets go for well over £120.
love sample sales

Didn't see much ripped stuff, saw lots of size sample etc, along with design tweaks etc.
Some stuff is often a pre run of the actual item, so incorrect buttons, no tag etc.
Not sure about Flip Flops, but there was a stall selling Vega trainers, but I have too many shoes as it is! -

i used to LOVE howies through and through, but now i find them quite patronising. i find the majority of their t-shirt designs utterly uninteresting (i like the nigel peake shed one though, and some others). todays t-shirt of the week has annoyed my typography-geek side quite a lot:

My loyalty to Howies has diminished since the opening of Carnaby St. Sell, sell, sell.

Brakeless.
I had a slight scare when I started to tip over and I was clipped in.
Still I can pull off a small skid =]Frank Says:

Why, because you are not a skeleton and do in fact have flesh on your bones?
