  • The police would probably try to charge you with criminal damage for the removal of the number plate - They are totally useless and don't investigate minor crime unless there is rock solid evidence supplied to them by the victim. Just rub some dog shit in the bit where the windscreen and bonnet meet and the car will stink for long time.

  • pj i'd get on with the rest of your life and chalk it down as experience.

EVERYTHING THAT'S WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY.

  • Revenge is a dish best served.. as an all-you-can-eat buffet!

  • something similar happened to me about 18 months ago.

i still got the address but never done anything about it. bit scared on my own.

but if there is a few of us ! safety in numbers ?

vigilanes. but where does it end ?

    lets keep talking.

  • Pop along to your loc\l magistrates court and tell the very nice person at the help desk that you want to raise a summons for:

S3 Road Traffic Act 1991: Driving without due care and attention.
S25 RTA 91: Failing to stop ( and exchange details) following an RTA.

It will cost you around £30 you will have to stand up in front of a bench of crusty old gits and tell them exactly what happened.
If they are satisfied an offence has been committed they will issue a summons. Post it to the twat in the BM by recorded delivery and wait.

If he replys then you may be granted a hearing. In which case turn up at court an hour earky on the set date with witnesses evidence etc and ask to talk to the duty solicitor. He/she will then do the talking for you and you becomevictim/complainant.

If you really want to screw the git. At the same time take out a county court action (basically the same method, but at your local county court) for damages, loss of earnings etc. Have evidence, say your bit and if satisfied they will issue a CCJ. He has 2 weeks to enter a defence or you win by default. Then the balifs are sent in to collect if he doesn't pay.

Before doing this talk to your local citizens advice about any local paperwork difference.

    Toodle pip

  • The police don't have a choice of whether or not to be interested.
Be persistent, call once a week asking for an update (don't ask if but when). Ask them how to file a complaint against the police with the independent complaints commission. It's easy, and getting them to give you the details is great.

On top of that, definitely speak to your MP and ask him to file a complaint with you against the police department. If your in TH, George Galloway has an awesome "surgery" every friday 3pm-6pm. His people will sit with you and write a letter there and then. Other MP's do similar.

Having said all of this and having dealt with getting the Crown Prosecution to reopen cases and filing complaints against the cops, I can say that above all else, have at least TWO independent witnesses for any crime can get you further than almost anything else.

    don't shout.

    you don't know me.

i actually quite like the idea of being 'everything that's wrong with this country'. i think if i was personally responsible for all the bad shit, i'd be quite proud. but that's not what you're getting at.

  • Just decided to write all this down. Kept meaning to. Maybe it's helpful, or at least maybe could help in the future.

  • it looked helpful to me, roxy. and happy birthday... :)

  • how about riding 'by accident' dressed thus: into his parked car? on the 'oldsworth'

(i'll film it, it'll get a zillion you tube hits)

  • thanks for the comments, at the moment im going to write a letter to popo telling them to reopen it, plus im looking to get some money for the new wheels, markrjohnston, i was thinking that those two would be the ones he woud be done with, i just dont understand why the pigs couldnt just get the guy. we will see how this pans out...

  • haha cool!

  • brilliant video!

  • very good.

  • http://www.cycles-for-heroes.com/2008/pdf/Specials.pdfHaven't the polis committed a bit of a boo boo by giving you his details? Not sure if I know all the ins and outs, but thats a data protection issue. Not that that helps you. What might make you feel better;

  • paint 'warning: dangerous driver' on his boot & bonnet with pink paint...
