  • im looking into setting up an account. so, give me a while, and if people see stuff they want, i can get it sent to me(Kobe) then on to the UK if they wont ship there.

  • can you speak japanese as well cos that would be amazing.

  • there is a nice big white nagasawa!

  • there is also a 58cm frame on there....

  • PISUTO = track frame.
Yahoo jp auctions are to Japan what ebay is to here and the U.S. ebay does not operate in this region. 99% of sellers will only deal with Japanese, and will not ship internationally. The japanese auctions also do not use a paypal system. It's all bank transfers.

Don't worry, because later this year ebay will merge with Yahoo Japan. And that's when the shit hits the fan ;]

Here is the track frame section:

Yup been using them since about 2000 for clothes and trainers from Yahoo Japan auctions and the Rakuten online shops.

You email them the URL of the stuff you want and paypal them a 50% deposit, they purchase it get it shipped to their office in Japan then forward to you and charge $10 per 10000 yen for the service. They send it EMS to you in 3 days or so and will mark as Gift etc. anything you like.

    As an example

    80000 yen @ 100 yen= $1 (includes Paypal fees) = $800
Domestic shipping in Japan say $20
    Celga fee $80
    Shipping EMS to UK $100

    Total $1000 = approx £520

what's the haps on the import tax though ?
having recently purchased a bike from the US i can vouch that it's a reet biiitch...
is there a way round it ?
is saying it's a gift good enough ??

  • yup- gift means they are less likely to make you pay.
Also have had less problems when I've bought from japan than USA.

  • but then is it not covered by insurance if it's marked 'gift'? like if they dent a frame or bend a rim or what have you?

  • How much is 100000 yen?

  • 100,000.00 Jpy

    491.889 Gbp

  • I understand from a related thread on here that some HK guys use the description "returned from repair" to bring used bits into the UK. That should work.

As hassanr says you take a calculated risk on loss/damage in transit with the value stated low.

  • I swear every auction says will not ship internationally. Does this mean they wont ship to theanywhere other than japan? or would they ship to the UK?

  • yeah they won't- hence why you'd have to use celga/ japanese contacts.

    thanks.
and for starting this thread, making it possible to buy from that site.
as a fan of Japan... this here's a dangerous discovery.
