Ok, not bike related (so sue me why don't cha) - but a genuinely handy tool and free for both Mac and PC.
www.logmein.com
Basically, join up with logmein (free) download the software and install.
**The mac version downloads the wrong version (PC I think) first time so after you have signed up and downloaded the software - bin it - sign out and start again - the second time will take you to the proper Mac page/version - weird I know but this happened on 3 Macs I installed Logmein on - after that no problems.
So, this is how it works for me, leave home at the crack of noon - but leave my computer on and connected to the internet (you can turn your monitor off), head into town to some studio or other to lay down the worst piece of telly ad music you can get away with charging for.
Halfway through the session someone says "this is shit, it sounds like you had AIDs when you did it" - I say nothing and stare into my coffee as experience has told me that when you look them in the eye is normally when the client attacks - they continue "haven't you something better, I preferred the first version you did, it was a little less shitty".
Damn ! The first version, why didn't he tell me that before I cycled halfway across London, I could have brought it in with me.
But wait . . . Logmein to the rescue !
Go to any computer connected to the internet - goto www.logmein.com - sign in, click on your computer - then enter any password or whatever you have on your computer and your desktop pops up on the computer you are on !!!!
You can browse your own computer from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, open files, play movies, even email from your computer at home.
It's brilliant !!! I know you can already get software that does this, but this is online and free.
