try this http://veloroutes.org
as far as I remember it will give you an elevation profile for any route you plot it.

cheers, will check those out.
I think the route maybe a bit of a mare (as opposed to L2B), but i'm going to give it go.

Damn, sold my Garmin 205 to Roadie a few days back for £60 - it had the complete L2B route in it from last year with altitude data and everything.

Might have the file I sucked out of it somewhere if you are interested . . . ?

Elvis...
Which way are you planning? I did it yesterday and can give you several route ideas if you want. No huge hills, either.
ps - it's easier B2L, because you get the steeper hills out the way first.

Remember Ordnance Survey maps? They were very popular and are, believe it or not, still widely available.
They have these ingenious little squiggly lines called 'contours'. Simply by looking at them and their relation to each other, not only can you figure out where you are, but also how high above sea level you are. They can also save your life when your electronic gizmo gives up the ghost... -

Get with the times daddy-o. All the hipsters use a GPS these days to check out where they have skidded.

Platini, you're not a grizzly 70-year-old audaxer by any chance are you?
You sound like one of the 'ancients' from my club. It's not like you're in the dessert with no landmarks and a distinct lack of Tescos on every corner.. this is a l2b.. Route Population:fuckloads. Oh and my GPS is waterproof and windproof unlike the maps I carried when touring. :P -

ha, ha, thanks all. Platini, I do like a good map, but as someone great once said "it's always in the crack"!
Max, thinking of the route that is often posted on here but in reverse. I'll PM you about it.
Is there somewhere online I can do this? Like GMAP or something?
Thinking on riding Brighton to London at the weekend but wanted to check the hill situation. Haven't done the L2B for years so can't really remember what it'd be like in reverse.
