In tokyo visiting my GF, and max the miracle worker from tokyo fixed gear sorted me a vivalo he bought complete off a keirin rider a couple of days before. i whipped on a pair of risers and a seat cover (to mask the keirin rider's pungent arse sweat) and went for a burn through tokyo with max, which was a bit of a baptism of fire. fck this bike feels sooo good and i was really tempted to keep the tubs and araya gold (?) rims on. its like riding with fudge wheels... really soft and responsive like er... fudge. But something tells me they're REALLY not meant for the street so as a compromise I'll probably keep the front one as is and rebuild the rear with something a bit more sensible.
So to cut a long question (not very) short, does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be a good clincher rim for the rear. strong, light and maybe a bit colourful? velocity's are pretty heavy I've heard. are there any other options?
hello all by the way, havn't posted for ages. (i ll post a few pointers to anyone going to tokyo and wants to find a bike in a couple of days once i ve shat out all the sushi)
