you are evolved from you grandparents - your cousins are also evolved from your grandparents - but you are not evolved from your cousins.Monkeys are our cousins we share ancestry but are not evolved from them.

We shouldn't stop at sludge, after all no particular point in the past can be said to be distinct to any other. We shouldn't stop at sludge an say 'it all started here', nor should we stop at amino acids, nor should we stop at carbon atoms, any of these would be arbitrary distinctions.
