Oooh interested in the orange one but I'd have to measure up my head tube tonight before I could commit are they 1" or 1 1/8" steerer?

Can you get me Bayley's bike? :)

hey roberto, got any cheapish drilled forks lying around? Finish dun' matter. Also I think edwin might pop round soon to swap that stem for one with a normal clamp diameter. :)

I have these forks going for free....
they look like shit but are solid, threads need wire brushing......if you need to know steerer and thread lengths, ask me.
-
• #9
the current forks are 152 mil steerer length, of which 46 mil are threaded. I guess it'd need to be more or less that.
Those forks look more or less ok.
They're for my friend's bike - current forks are for 27 inch wheels & have an old skool brake drilling (too small for the shimano 105 I wanna fit).
Whereabouts are you based?
-
• #10
if that was for me....steerer length 168mm of which 38mm is threaded....I'm Fins Pk.

Roberto, I would be very interested in the Fork #1 but I'm still waiting for my new frame to arrive so that I can measure the steerer tube properly...

I think I had the same problem on my forks, after fannying about in loads of bike shops trying to find a brake with the right combination of old school bolt and enough drop I decided to drill out the rear hole in the forks. You just need to make that hole a bit wider and the 105 should fit in. Apologies if i have the wrong end of the stick tho!

How hard was it to find a modern style brake with a lot of drop? I'm going to need one with about 60-70 mm... to be fair i haven't looked anywhere myself yet.

I only needed about 56mm which wasn't hard to find, but all had the newer allen key 'nut' and a shorter bolt. Cavendish had a Dia Compe that had the old bolts, but the drop was too long! I reckon that would sort you out. TBH I can't really remember the details, it may have been single pivot, but its still a caliper, its shiny and was only £13 if memory serves.
Edit: I'm pretty sure it was this but in silver:
which seems to be dual pivot...short term memory not so hot -
