Saw someone at South London Beers with these:
I remember them being quite light, plus white for summer is nice. It's still going to get hot though.

I am the owner of the Ianabe gloves. Only available in white from Hubjub. It took me 2 years to have the courage to wear them. Bonkers looking but very comfortable and not sweaty. Carbon knuckles are very useful for reminding drivers they are to close etc. With good technique you can probably punch out a window.

The only problem with those lanabe is that they cost £75... but they look like beasts. enough for moto-x probably, but yes, that was one reason why I like the carbon bits, just not sure how that was going to go down. They are pimtacular at hitting thigns and you don't feel a thing, I've wailed on a brick wall in them and didn't feel anything and clipped my little finger on a tree doing god knows how fast on my BMX, (unfortunately not wearing those gloves at the time so it just hurt).

Full fingered gloves in the summer? Errrrrm, okay... If you're concerned you're going to hit your hands that frequently on cars to buy full fingered gloves, perhaps time to consider riding slightly further from cars?
And leather? Isn't that going to be very sweaty? I wouldn't know; I don't wear leather.
My Endura ones were good last summer, still using them now although they've developed a hole between two of my fingers.

Anyone bought/used any decent gloves this summer? Looking for a pair of the short fingered ones. Watched a couple of cycling films whilst on holiday and it occured to me that it might not be a bad idea to have something to protect my hands from the tarmac! :)

the best gloves to buy (imo) are these badbwoys:

or these

Ive had mine for years and wear em daily but both are totally waterproof and well breathable ;)p.s. I just found out that Sealskinz also do fingerless cycle gloves**

I've been using these for a few summers now. The fit/stretch is really nice, and the gel padding comes into its own on longer rides.

I have a pair of these, which I bought for both road riding, and MTB rides. I've had them for about a year and a half, and they've held up well. Warm in the winter, not too sweaty in the summer, and I don't get blisters on my hands anymore. I haven't tried many other pairs of gloves, but these are the best ones I've had so far.

dude those are downhill gloves and hot as hell!
I've got a pair somewhere for mtb.. but the carbon knuckles make them really un-flexible.
OP - just go try gloves on.. don't spend more than £30, they're just gloves and will fail/get filthy eventually.. Gel is good if you're riding for longer periods of time, but don't buy anything with holes in the palm "to let your hands breathe" they don't work and you'll just shred them.
i got them a while back for 30usd -

Shamefully unhip, but the Spesh BG gel-palmed mitts have been very good to me. They're just starting to fall apart now (though still wearable) and it's been years.
I'm looking to get a new set of gloves as I have shredded/sweated mine to pieces and they're just pretty nasty.
I'm looking at something like these:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=9516
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=16549
As I know clipping a tree on bmx/mtb hurts a lot and I'm applying that same logic to car mirrors, etc that cut you up. My only problem is my hands sweat like a beast.
Can anyone recommend a good set (doesn't have to be anything like those above)?
Thanks
