I am a newbie to this single speed / fixed malarky, should be picking up my new custom built flip-flop thing from BLB on Sunday after various conversations with mates and pissing around in London Fields park last weekend. Found this site and have to say, what a fricking laugh.
Thought I'd check this thread out to see what was what and in 297 replys I have learnt several things about riding bikes that I never knew before:
1) You need to balance of the two wheels
2) You need more friction between rubber and tarmac in the wet
3) pedalling allows tou to go forwards
4) When cornering, the front wheel is vaguely important
Chars guys, hope to see some of you at the Dove at some point soon?
pedalling can also allow you to go backwards young master luke :^]
have fun on your new bike, cracking weekend for it.
