Wanted: Waterproof Messenger Bag

Posted on
  • Hi,

The rain last week, and the hot weather this week have highlighted a couple of problems with my existing Crumpler bag. The worst of which is that the back panel doesn't stop sweat soaking through and ruining stuff in the bag.

I'm on the Grobag waiting list, so, I'm looking for an interim solution. Anyone got an used messenger bag laying around that they'd like to get rid of? Looking for something reasonably large so I can get change of clothes/towel/folders/laptop in etc.

    Thanks!

  • Have a word with your postie

  • Are they actually waterproof? Do they have a rubbery lining? Or are they that cavas material which is supposed to be waterproof but isn't - I had a bag for my Brompton made out of that and it sucked.

  • plastic bags?

  • post bags are shite
put plastic bags (as smeear said)over your stuff in your own bag and wait.

  • You can get a waterproof rucksack liner/dry bag from outdoor shops for a fiver or so

  • Plastic bags are all very well and good theoretically, but they tend to rip if you keep things like folders in them, so you end up having to carry a load around with you, which is a pain.

The dry bags that I've seen before don't fit too well inside my bag, but I'll take another look.

    Thanks for the suggestions though!

If anyone does have one lying around, I'm still looking :-)

  • Orbital do a largish water proof backpack. Should hold it's value well so you will not loose much money on it if you have to sell it in 3 months.

  • Anywhere in E london i can pick up a messenger bag for cheapycheap?

  • haha yep

  • posh bastards
