I have been riding a "shimagnolo" for a while, 9 speed campag with shimano wheelset, works great, but may not be as easy to shift as if it had a campag cassette (doesnt really bother me).
Various combinations work, but it really comes down to the particular gear that you are using.

In the event that you dontt have a combination that works well, you can pick up a shiftmate, a pulley system which changes the pull ratio of your derr.
