  • yes it does.

    Hahaha! Agreed

  • I thought you might be interested to know that Time Out have a topical issue dedicated to the great London cycling debate. You can read more and join the debate at:

Wow! Thanks so much for that Time Out, it's great to see you guys are really on the side of the London cyclist. Where can I sign up for a year's subscription? Or would it be OK with you guys if I just gave you all my bank details? Cheers!

    :)

  • Nah, we saw the main results as they were coming in. Ken was winning City & East at that point though.

  • I voted for beer.
I did at least try to vote but unlike Oz you can't do "out of electorate" type voting.
    Fuck it then.

    are you for real?

if so, listen, your fucking "debate" is a pile of wank. We've all seen it before and we all know it's drivel, you sad shit.

think of the lowest bottom barnacle on the hull of the shittest trawler in the shittest port of the whole fucking world.

    that's your rag, that is.

there ain't no "debate" to be had, some people ride bikes, others don't, some people break the law, others don't. neither is mutually exclusive.

now, sonny jim, fuck off this forum, you cunt, or I'll find you, and kill you.
    In the head.

  • I bought, and read the Time Out cycling issue and was very disappointed. I'm sure we all knew about it before that post, so +1 to not advertising.

If you wanted to do an issue that was covering cycling, forget the damn debate, and write an issue that gives good advice to those people who want to cycle in London.

  • huzzah!

  • Still don;t get why lots of candidates have jumped on the 'Paris-style bike hire scheme' bandwagon, its a totally shite idea, waste of cash.

Ditto 'More Cycle Lanes' clarion call. Aren't they listening to what cyclists say? Thought not.

Just stop people nicking our rides, stop people running us over, and stop telling us we're naughty all the time... I don't see anyone getting a ticket for jumping red lights in cars, vans, buses ...

    F*ck yeah!!!!!!

    Cyclists need to be louder!!

  • "I don't see anyone getting a ticket for jumping red lights in cars, vans, buses ..."

i have lived in london for nearly 15 years and can count on one hand the drivers i have witnessed going through a red light, the number of cyclists who run red lights is far greater..

A small survey conducted by the RAC a few years ago showed that 1/10 cars, 1/5 buses and 1/2 cyclists ran lights at survey sites.

How many hands do you have?

thanks you very much rob...that has made my day. :D

  • Particularly the reason for editing...

  • i read that timeout.

reading about a load of new age yummos cycle across london made me want to buy a massive 4x4 and run them down in such a way that the downtube and top tube skewered each person through both eyeballs and exited through the ringpiece.

  • it's funny, depsite the word coming to popular attention a couple of years ago, you don't hear the word 'ringpiece' much anymore. remind me, exactly which part of the bicycle is that again?

Couldn't have put it better myself. I was deeply unimpressed by that issue. Was thinking more Hummer than 4x4 though, pancake the new age hippy cunts.

And as a journo or at the very least media savvy bod how fucking stupid do you have to be to think you can drop into a forum, an online community, like a turd - link to your rag and fuck off again???

If Time Out was a regular contributor here, who asked questions, offered jokes or advice and at least made an effort then fair play. But he/she is not, all they want is hits for their online debate, it's all about the eyes for them and consequently the money. Do they really think we're that ignorant? Fucktard ming-mongs.

  • you're right...how dare they use this domain to promote Time Out.

  • Dave are you annoyed by this?

Those stats seems pretty realistic to me. Cyclists have got to take responsibility. TFL claim that "Over the past year the number of cyclists in London has grown by 83 per cent". Well I only have to look out my window to see that for myself. The problem is that if half of these new riders are also jumping lights then the heat is going to come down on the cycling community. Claiming other road users do it so its OK ain't going to cut it. If cyclists continue to jump red lights, especially at pedestrian crossing where people are actually crossing, then the government and local councils will have a legitimate excuse to introduce a new means of revenue.

Yeah we know there are far too many drivers on the road that are a danger to other road users BUT we need to get our own house in order before we start pointing the finger.
