I'm saddened by the selfishness of people who voted ken out because of the 4x4 tax and congestion charge. I believe people have (wrongly) used the mayoral election as a vote against the Labour government as a whole and not what's in the best interests for London.
we haven't lost any green seats in the assembly AFAIK, and the CG already in place is unlikely to be changed, so it's not all bad. as for scrapping bendy buses and other big statements? well it's unlikely given the budget.
I think, at best, boris will be a comedy puppet and easily controlled by the assembly. At worst? fuck knows, I really don't want to think about that.
I guess the old torys must have felt similar to this when blair's new labour got in.
