I don't mean he's academically stupid, far from it. But see the comment above in relation to how he conducts himself in the public eye. He's clearly very intelligent but parodies himself 'good old bumbling Boris' and I believe this is backfiring on him from a public opinion perspective.

My point is that if he presents himself as being massively out of touch with modern society (who would write about 'picaninnies' ffs and expect to be taken seriously) then he'll rightly be perceived as such...

And that in itself when running for Mayor is pretty dim.

As for keeping whippets, wearing a cloth cap, and workin' down t'pit. If he were such a person but equally clueless in nurturing his public profile it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

He's a lovable knob as far as I'm concerned.
