Is that at a bike specific place?
I got a whole bike chromed for 200 AUD (100 quid) at a car place in melbourne.
Maybe try a place that does bigger things and it might cost less. Also you could ask if you could get the price down by prepping (stripping and polishing, oo err) yourself.

Isn't there a way of getting like Ray Mears and doing it yourself?
Car Battery and all that jazz??

Not much fun. Have to strip first using Hydrochloric acid, then a heated bath full of melted chrome and acid combined and immerse for 8 minutes or so while wired to positive and negative electrodes. Messy and dangerous chemicals.

Might be worth mentioning that chroming causes lots of nasty bi-products.

Like hipster bikes?
Can't decide... is it worth £84 + VAT to add chromed ends to my renovation? And if I'm gonna do that (and wait the extra time it takes) should I go for six inches instead? Whaddya think?
