I remember dealing with dotCom companies who had playstations and pool tables and fridges full of free soft drinks etc. etc. and blathered on about how it made them more productive. They quickly ditched it all when the Nasdaq crashed and went back to the cheapest offices they could find, and found that they didn't need that sort of productivity.
