I think it's a great frame, can't wait to see it all finished with the blingy bits on... I'd probably Arrotex everything matt black then apply half a dozen coats of military grade anti-radar lacquer afterwards... But that's just me... ;)

I thought some old parts, some new, all functional and most importantly all are low maintenance, should look ok and should ride sweet, which at the end of the day is the important thing. We shall see though.

It's what I'm meant to be doing to my surly. Strip a load of paint (badly & randomly) then clearcoat over the top of it - Instantly less nickable (Hopefully).

Good call badger. I was planning on a some paint to make it look tatty/rusty before clear coating but actual rust is blatently easier.
