Shipping/Customs charges. Aaaaarrrgh!

amsterdam is a freeport and there are no customs charges. If they are sending it as a gift to the UK it has to be under 36 quid or something, and even then its still up to rev.and customs to decide if they are going to tax it or not. get it send to a friend in amsterdam or to a re-mailer and then get them to post it to you from there. EU tax and customs charges are cheaper, might even be free.

I get them to put 'SAMPLE' on the value section - basically no value, you won't get taxed but if the thing is lost in transit - no value = no insurance claim.
