  • Just got back from Tokyo last night after a very quick visit (2 days)!
Got to say a massive thanks to all who helped with advice before I went.
And amassive thanks you to the man Akio (or was it Masaki?) who opened the shop
for me early. I got a pair of 110mm Dura-ace hubs for £80 off them and some tires.

Also went to see Shingo at Sexon Pista, who has the coolest little shop. Didn't get chance to buy anything off him as I was not able to go back before I had to return.

All I can say is, can't wait to go back for a decent amount of time.

  • If Brick Lane Bikes looked like this I'd pay a pound to go in...

    I understand that:

    100mm is for front hubs.
120mm is for rear new track hubs.
130mm is for rear road hubs.
135mm is for rear MTB hubs.

Is 110mm what NJS frame spacing is or just what old track spacing is?

  • some older frames uk, french, italian etc also have used 110mm

Yep you got it, both. Like what he said^
    Also:
    rear

    120mm old old road
    125mm old road
    126mm old road

98mm? front old (smaller axles too)

there's loads of spacings out there baby.

  • plus that I know off.

110 mm front on through bolt long travel mbt forks
150 mm on through bolt rear full sus mbt
145 mm tandem rear (possible to archive zero dish with a 7 speed)
160 mm tandem rear, rare (possible for zero dish with 8 and 9 speed hubs)

  • 110 is njs old rear. they now use 120
cos they like to be different.

minus the trendy white deco and asians with manga hairstyle...looks like BLB actually have bit more to offer. price difference between the two may be another matter

  • There's not a lot in there, but it is pristine, and the chaps are helpful even with my bad language skills. Could have spent a lot of money, but also didn't want to carry too much. The shop itself is in a out of way area, not much there at all, but it is very cool - if minimal.

  • glad you had fun tom.
Its a really nice/strange/ fun place.

  • got any photos from tokyo?? I really want to go but cant afford it :(
