Good work on building your first. You'll appreciate it so much more than an off the peg.

    Yes.

  • No.... this guy is fresh!

  • thanks OBJECT!! pure info!!!

    I can't work out if that's a sarcastic reply or not. Here are the two replies, delete as applicable dependent on intended inference;

    1. You're welcome. You'll have a shit load of fun and never be left wanting as fasr as information is required.
    2. Fuck you bitch.

  • good call prav. That frame looks pretty good, not a complete rip-off price either.

Tell you what kidiam, why don't you tell us yer budget and we'll point you in the direction of components?

For cheap & well built wheels, check out www.kiwicycles.com. They also stock a range of other budget parts (cranks etc). You can get a wheelset from £75 upwards!

It sort of looks like English and yet seems to make no sense whatsoever. Are you one of those security checking random word generators?

Dude. Fresh is all good, just make sure you drag yourself out for a drink now and then. We're a friendly bunch.
Just note that BLB aren't the cheapest of stores and you'll be wanting to chat to Matt and Sheep about their open toolbox sessions to help you put it all together. They're great guys

  • Actually, some of us aren't friendly. Don't sue me for lying to you on the internet.

  • No.... this guy is fresh!

correction he used to be fresh...now he is just Will Smith :(

  • hubjub and outspoken cycles are pretty decent web stores to check out. I've saved over 70 quid buying my parts up from there rather than blowing it all in blb!

  • list of what you need:

    drive train:

    • bottom bracket
    • crank arms
    • pedals
    • chain ring
    • cog
    • chain
    • front and rear hubs
    • front and rear rims
    • spokes
    • tyres

    steering

    • headset
    • stem
    • handelbars

    sittin'

    • saddle
    • seatpost

... and that's about it. simple, no? and in fairness, hubjub is a great shop but if it's your first build (or you're in any way on a budget), it's maybe not your first port of call.

  • brakes are useful

  • kiwicycle... paul will sort u out...

  • blb is lil expensive, but a friend hooked me up wit some bits, even wit a pink velocity deep front wheel.. thanks for the list teddy, its gonna make things more easy... jus hav 2 wait 4 the frame 2 arrive then wrk begins....was gonna ask how much will cost to spray the frame.... and where? and does the price relate to the type of colour?

  • brake definietly!!!

  • don't forget nipples!

  • good call prav. That frame looks pretty good, not a complete rip-off price either.

Really? I was thinking that was kinda expensive for that frame. My dad goes to lots of bike jumbles and sells frames of a similar age with near to perfect paint and stickers (they'll be name brands too - Bates, Orbit etc...) and he gets £20-40 per frame and forks (often including headset).

He needs to start ebaying them.

  • Tallsam, can I get a frame from your dad please? Oh go on!

  • ditto.
