  • Brick Lane Bikes eh? is that the place where they charge 50p to use their pump? lol, seriously though thanks for advice, i am keen to have a look in that shop... but i am also quite keen to build one up myself from an old frame... Out of interest, what kind of range do they charge for complete set ups?

  • I think BLB quoted me about £90 for a build if I supplied all the parts.
Needless to say, they didn't get the business.
Magic (just down the road) would do a much better deal.

  • £90 is a lot of moula for a bit of labour, i'd rather borrow some tools and spend the wkend at it! Haven't heard of Magic before will check them out when i'm in that part of town... If i do decide to sell it, i probably put it on the old ebizzle and set the delivery options for collection only, guess i could also make a post about it in the classified section of this forum.. Time will tell....

If you want to sell frame and forks, then I'd be interested.
No, I won't convert it. I need to build a bike with gears.

  • I gots a 60 cm frame for sale so you could put some cash into past-killed-puppies.
I won't annoy everyone with another pic but PM me if you sell this one and want something else in this size.

  • As a previous converter of a few and a half frames, let me say that if you convert that frame and you fall in love with riding fixed, you'll end up buying a proper track frame anyway (you won't be able to stop yourself). By then you will have chipped some paint, worn in the bike a bit more....

If you don't fall in love with riding fixed and are cleverer than the rest of us (realizing it's actually a step backwards in bike evolution) then you'll end up sticking the gears back on PLUS you'll never know whether it was just the frame that you didn't like the positioning of for fixed or riding fixed itself.

Perhaps selling in bits would give you a bit more of a profit on ebay. But if you really like the bike, then at the end of the day you're talking to a bunch of people who understand why it's perfectly acceptable to have 2,3, or 30 bikes...

  • nice one roxy- i think you summed it up quite well! right, I will keep the Moser and leave it as it is because like you said there is no shame in having more than ahem 3 bikes... although my housemates may disagree. 'save the puppies' - Time to find a track frame!
ps> i've really enjoyed this forum thing tonight :)

  • Hello everyone, It's been a while since my last visit. I've been cycling like mad though. My beloved F.Moser bike (pictured above) was stolen recently right outside my house!! grrr, i wish they would have taken one of my kidneys instead! i feel awful without her! if anyone has seen her please let me know! thanks

  • ouch. sorry, mate...
