• i only wear helmet when im on a mtb

  • pass the masking tape.

  • Smoking a cigar & adjusting your meat 'n' 2 veg while riding no hands - in brogues. Mad Skilz.

Yeah, that's why I need the suit, I keep falling all over the place

  • @tommmy brilliant.

back on topic...i have fallen out of trees, down mountains, into the road and many other things places. Maybe i've been lucky or maybe the fact that my head isn't a good three inches bigger all around, stopped me from hitting it.

When i used to ride a scooter, i'd routinely put my helmet on before leaving the house, almost always bang it on the door frame as i left. Never banged my head on the doorframe without it on though.

your mammas so fat, her helmet is st.pauls

  • Lets try that again...

  • use the button.

  • ~~Lots of polymers dissolve very easily in certain solvents. For example, if you place a polystyrene coffee/tea cup into a petri dish with a thin layer of acetone (I think) the whole thing just sinks in and totally disappears into a goo.

A similar thing will happen, but obviously not to the same extent, if the adhesives contain anything that will react with the surface of the helmet.

I don't know anything specific, but the stickers that come with the helmet are going to be made with an adhesive that won't react, or that does react but the rate of reaction is so slow that the helmet will be knackered before the consequences of the reaction are noticeable.~~

ignore all that. pretty much been answered better but for some reason it didn't display all the posts that occured in the hours between Tommy posting and now. :S

  • I don't think I have one of those...

  • your momma ain't your momma…

  • I just bought myself a Catlike Whisper Plus helmet after years of never wearing anything: I've worn it a few times and it does have great airflow to keep your head cool. Doesn't look too bad either IMHO, though my girlfriend says it looks 'weird'.

@Julio: I've just put my Giro 'Bad Lieutenant' GI style 'boarding helmet on Ebay starting at a tenner. No bidders as of this morning so if you're still interested and there are still no bidders, PM me and I'll end the auction and let you have it for that price.

  • gnarley!!

  • I don't wear a helmet unless regulations state that I must.
This has nothing to do with me looking stupid, some people are always going to think that anyway. I find them incredibly uncomfortable, but that's my choice.
I don't understand the " I wear mine 70/80 % of the time" stuff. How do you know when you're going to have an accident? Reminds me of Jimmy Saville and "clunk click ..."

  • I'd quite like one that looks like an army helmet.
But it would need air vents...

Check out the new Giro Flak then! Putney Bikehut Store have got some in...

  • I wear a helmet 80% of the time. Keep t' brains in and that.

still trying to find mine so I wear one all the time [just in case, y'know]

  • If anyone is still genuinely interested (and I don't want to go all C+, but the pro-helmet lobby do piss me off with their assertions and unfounded declarations):

  • gnarley!!

My head looks something like that (though not quite so extreme)! 68 stitches & a dozen staples.
Nothing to do with riding a bike mind you.

If you slowly scroll down the page so that this 'helmet' gradually appears, it looks like there's going to be a picture of the gherkin building.

    Whatever.

  • Does anyone know of any helmets that don't look completely shit?

there are some that look good. plenty in fact. but mostly the rule is this.... they always look shit on yourself when you look in the mirror but not on anyone else when you see them in the street...... shame. but i suppose you dont much look at yourself whilst wearing one.

in response to the thread, i teach cycling profficiancy so i wear it at work 100% and tell the kids i always wear it but, well, ya know. i dont wear it much these days.
