• My old flatmate wants a singlespeed, and he wants it now it would seem.

    Suggestions please?

  • Go to Cavendish. Buy a Bob Jackson frame. Buy parts for Bob Jackson frame.

Build it at home (maybe get Cavendish to install the HS, BB, cog and lockring - everything else can be done with a set of allen keys and a couple of wrenches).

That's what I would do, anyway.

  • i've got a langster he can have for £900

  • high specced condor pista would be a nice SS

  • possible to get one of those fixie inc's from mosquito,
    wilier pista is another alternative

  • langster £900!!!!!!!

  • +1 to Fixie Inc's Blackjack, they're so nice and shiny. And expensive.

  • He should buy dogsballs' Holdsworth and keep it safe and polish it everyday.. it will hold its value unlike any other bike on the market!

  • I was gonna say that provenrad, then I realised the OP said single speed. I think Dale might have something to say about somedbody trying to get that frame drilled - it would be ugly.

  • Ooooh the humanity - what have I said Skully?! You are so right.

  • £1k?

Save up a bit extra, and buy this:

  • i've got a langster he can have for £900

    haha!

  • 1K including all parts- the Tupelo, whilst very nice, would break the bank somewhat.

I'm tempted to steer him toward the Willier Pista (as has been suggested in this thread).

Has anyone got one that would like to share their experience?

  • It seems alright but for a grand there are many nicer options, as also suggested above.

  • If the BJs in Cavendish are standard Vigorelli frames there will be no rear brake drilling.

  • 1K including all parts- the Tupelo, whilst very nice, would break the bank somewhat.

Just tell him that it'll feel and riding amazingly after Cyclefit have fitted him up :P

    is that your pretty one??

  • Crikey - £1000. Thats a lot of dough for 1 gear :)

That Glider sure looks nice though.

  • singlespeed? for a grand?

i'd have thought £400 quid would be sufficient.

unless you want flickwg's brobdingnag-edition langster.

  • semi-pimped condor pista.
mine was £995 with deda bars dura-ace brake goldtec/open=pro's

  • He can have my Soma or the Cuntster for a grand, no probs :)

  • He can have my Condor PIsta frame & forks for £350 if he likes. Just slap on some bits from Cavendish or, dare i say it, Condor.
