If you put enough air in them they should centre themselves. What pressure are you going to?
-
• #3
Well my hand pump claims to be able to go up to 90PSI and I've certainly gone as far as I can. Maybe I should run down to Condor at lunch and stick 'em on the big pump?
-
• #4
you'll have a hell of a time getting it to 90 with a hand pump!
you can use my track pump if you like. -
• #5
Oh OK. Big pump it is! Are you in town Mister K?
-
• #6
Just popped over to Condor and stuck 100PSI in them. Didn't seem to make any difference at first, but then, 100 metres own the road, they are all nice and round. Seems a bit of a harsh ride though!
Ta for the advice guys - I love you all very, very much.

100 is still a bit low, what is the max. pressure they are rated to
-

Go to 120psi. It's the magic number.

Depends on rider weight, init. I regularly ride 23s at 100 rear/95 front.
Perfect - comfy - fast - no pinch flats - I'm 63kg.

• #12
bontrager hardarse raceshites?
I run them at 120psi rear, 110psi front.
I'm 80kg though, not a wasted wreck like BMMF

No, you're a fat bastard like hippy.

Yep - those tyres. I'm 76KG apparently. What's these real tyres of which you speak? No fancy coloured things for me.

I picked a piece of glass bigger than BMMF out of my front tyre yesterday, no puncture.
they do seem to keep flats at bay, but the ride isn't exactly fantastic.
you get what you pay for with tyres, and the bontys are excellent value at £10

Morning you lot,
I got meself a shiny new pair of Campagnolo Khamsins in gold yesterday and can't get my old Bontys to centre on the rim. It's almost as if the tyres are too small for the rims, leaving a flat spot on both tyres as I travel.
I've tried getting washing up liquid in there and wiggling them, but nothing is working. Anyone got any magic tips?
Ta,
Ben
