For fixed wheel you will either need a white industries ENO hub, which are quite pricey, or an eccentric bottom bracket, which I know nothing about although I believe VB was looking into them, and MrSmith has used them. Do not use a chain tensioner with fixed, it will not work.

Track ends make it much, much easier to sort out. Semi-horizontal works, vertical is quite expensive in comparison.
