Restoring a bike

I have just bought a Giant Cadex 980c which is about 10 years old. It is in excellent condition, very few scuffs/scratches as it wasn't used very much and was kept in storage.

I am really happy with it, but a few problems have come to light. Firstly, around the boundaries between the carbon fibre and aluminium lugs it seems that the aluminium has corroded slightly causing slight chips (I don't know if there is a resin covering that has chipped or the aluminium itself). Is it possible to repair and protect these areas?

I think you might have to seek expert advice, maybe shoot an email and some pictures to Giant (?)
