Why not put another lock on it and leave a note of your mobile - if anyone's nearby with a spare lock?
On the other hand, if it gets nicked it's a learning experience for the owner... -

I've noticed a lot of people lock their bikes in the 'down tube, front rim, immovable object' way. I used to use 'chainstay, rear spoke, immovable object' but I realised that wasn't so great and now I use 'seat tube, rear rim, immovable object'. I think Idealy I'd like to use my mini d for 'seat tube, rear rim, immovable object' and a chain for 'down tube, front rim, immovable object, along with a cable securing the saddle rails.

wasn't cycling this morning & thought leaving a note would only draw attention to it
so posted it here on the off chance that someone might own it
anyway just went out for a coffee & it's been locked to another bike now -

This has been a public service thread ;-)

Charlie says "Always lock your bike up properly or it is easier for thieveing scum to nick it."
How about we go off topic to discuss favourite public service films?

At the Tescoburys the other night: two mid-range road bikes locked up together by just their top-tubes to a pole.
Lights, and wheelsets accessible and I don't live in a genteel suburb neither.
Just don't get people sometimes. -

I had a mate from Cheddar who used to use the word 'nodder' instead of condom/jonny/sheath etc. This IS a public service thread ;-)

Have a look at the cycling action of most novice cyclists. The head 'nods' forward with the pedal stroke - very reminiscent of a pigeon walking. -

The side to side head nod action with handlebars swerving all over the place is the best.
