Ha! You should see how much they charge for Settlement. £750 by post (6-8 weeks) or £950 (same day) AND you get to be treated like shit for 5 hours for the privilege. Not a "value for money" experience.

i'll add my +1 to this. I hate the home office. I'm married to a lovely American and in order to get married she had to first get a fiancée visa, then a marriage visa, then after 2 years an indefinite leave to remind visa, all of which has cost us well over a grand. and not only do they charge you a stupid amount but you also get treated like a criminal and there's not much you can do about it.

did you have to pay a visit to the lovely home office place in Croydon? going there was one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life. we were there for 7 hours.

I also hate banks. Incompetent bastards.
