yeah. was about to say i thought you had one.
how was korea? you back in the uk now?

  • yeah i got back last night... so worn out now. it was incredible. lots of drinking too. ate some gnarly food including live octopus, bone soup and chicken arsehole. so tonight i'm having lasagne. also didn't manage to find a bike shop selling NJS stuff half-price or anything unfortunately... hows tricks?

i don't actually have a half-link, just saw one on my interweb travels.

  • You know what I am boycotting those ****s for good, the other day the sold me a baggie of workshop grease for £1 & it costs 50p to use their pump, they are literally selling air.

BLB are getting a bad name, pay to use a pump ? For fuck's sake !

  • i think this could be a misunderstanding, no? they sell the shadow conspiracy half-link chain for about that? i think i have totally misunderstood what's being discussed here...

    live octopus?! nice!
must just remember you talking about the half-link chain...
off to the northern drinks this/next week?

  • yeah should be, see you there.

  • Yeah, I do. I was referring to shops suggesting that whole chains were the ONLY option rather than single links. If you want a whole chain that's fine, I just don't like shops suggesting more expensive solutions if there's a cheaper, effective one.

It's called up selling. Why sell a 2.99 product when you can con somone into buying a 23.99 product.

  • I thought the original point was to use a single half-link to make chains work with ss and bmx to get chain tension right. I dunno when the whole-chain half-link thing started?? Just make sure you get the right width and you should be fine.

chains entirely of halflinks are for sprocket grinds, etc, so the way all the plates are set up you don't rip the outer plates off. dunno why they are popular on fixed gears, they're ugly and they weigh a fucking ton. and are obnoxious to use.

  • and stretch faster then your sister when hippy gets to her.
