Hi. up for grabs are a set of carbon forks (wonder why they call them a set when there's only one?)
There are two blades that fork from the crown - there are two forks (like two forks in a road) - they are a pair of forks.
The thing is the 'fork' refers to the action or deviation (for want of a better word) and not to an actual object - kinda' confusing I know - handle bars follow a similar nomenclature.
Glad I could help.
Next week, Chris Crash takes you through the basics of worm spellin'.

veegan cupcakes and mallet building
i'd call that a fair trade, but will he?

Thanks Tynan, an elegant explanation. are you a teacher or sumfink?
flickwg, pass on the cupcakes (vegan or meat, but thanks ;-)), thought the mallet building sounds like an option. The idea of staying vertical on a bike whilst riding in tight circles is somewhat of a remote possibility, maybe someone wants to offer some stabilisers instead....
anyway, here are some pics...

looks alright orange to me. so they're carbon? so it stood up ok in the baking process?
-
• #10
they are indeed carbon - but they were hand painted rather than stove enamelled - I think if the paint had been baked on they would have either disintegrated, or (worse) become really brittle. He did bake the frame paint on, but that hasn't stopped it coming off if you look at it funny.

xsheepx, you still have those 8 polo mallets?
-
• #12
i do.. what kind of trade were you thinking of?
-

saw the orange langster at armourtex yesterday, thought it looked an odd orange!
just respray the forks with "montana nitro 2g" spray paint - i did a friends forks recently and that works better than car paint, you cant get it to drip if you try

ok 24 hours has passed and I've decided I'm gonna paint them. thanks for the paint tip Jo np, I'll look out for your frame at Armourtex tomorrow when I pick mine up..

picked it up as i saw yours
you can get decent (much better than car paint) and cheap paint from HQ in brixton market (closes early today) or if your in north/east then try this place: 26 calbet ave, just off shorditch hi st. montana is glossy and belton is matt
if you want black get the stuff called montana nitro 2g as its really think and wont drip
good luck! -

you sell me mallet ? I give you three camels
-

I quite like the look of that colour, kinda what I wanted originally. But I went with Armourtex in the end as it was obvious Vaz didn't want my business (3 messages left, zero calls back=fuck you, I'll give my cash to someone else).

dude you're welcome to piping, i've got plenty of that. just find a ski pole and come round and we'll make it...
-

cool - but now I'm well confused as to how you take a ski pole and some piping and end up with a polo mallet.... and where does the elephant come in to it? How bout I catch you at polo sometime (not sure i can make this weekend) and we can work it out...

I'm looking to get some carbon forks sprayed matt black...how much did it cost to get yours done?
-
• #25
no I sprayed them in the end using the paint Joe np recommended. They came out pretty good, and I saved my pennies for a real bike :p
@bigcogs: I have half a can of paint, plenty to do a couple more forks, PM me if you want it...
Hi. up for grabs are a set of carbon forks (wonder why they call them a set when there's only one?) from my specialized langer. 2006, hardly ridden on > 50k. Now the bad bit - I had the frame and forks painted by Vaz, and what was s'pposed to be orange came back orange with a pink pearlescent hue. Not quite my cup of tea, and now the frame is over at Armourtex getting a proper paint job, but they won't do the forks. So rather than paint them black (I'm too lazy), I'm just going to replace them. Any sensible offers considered: cash, trade (I'm currently after a new black headset for the current bike and lots of bits for the next bike), porro mallet, luncheon vouchers, good karma.
Collection from Hoxton/Shoreditch - evenings.
