  • good times, good to see you again and meet new faces. especially ed. :)

  • great ride, great times, great friends

    well done to all involved

  • ed - on way to sainsbury's

  • Awesome ride all. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Saturday. Actually, I can think of a few, but none of the members of Girls Aloud will answer my calls, so I'm left with you guys and gals, and it ain't so bad.

Looking forward to the next one.

  • Great ride all, Just got home, glad we took the train and missed the rain. Good pace, no mechanicals, just two punctures, couldn't have been much better. Roll on the next one...

  • Oh Dan, only once I got home did I remember that you bought me a beer in the pub, yet I had the gall to charge you £1 for a can on the train. Sorry mate. I can only put it down to me being in Southend. I'll get you one on the next ride. Cheers.

  • Nice pics, pj. Really don't remember you having the camera out that much on the ride.

  • some really good pics!

  • Excellent ride everyone and some very nice pics there.
Again, we were lucky with the weather and punctures. Lets get the Cambridge one organised soon.
Missed the rain completely and got home to a nice hot bath.

    Wicked

  • I was thinking of Cambridge as well!

wanna go there coz Pink Floyd is from Cambridge...

    we could call the ride

LONDON TO THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON , lol

  • Nice pics, pj. Really don't remember you having the camera out that much on the ride.

    stealth pics...

  • Ummm... so I completely forgot about this ride. Looks like it was a good one! Oh well, I have a new bike now (how I've spent my afternoon)

  • great ride. lovely weather and lovely people.

the fish, chips and mushy peas were excellent.

well done to sainsburys ed. have you managed to do your shopping yet ? it is a bit like the jack and the beanstalk story !

  • cheers for the route mastery jonny and others- really beautiful ride. Great to meet the lot of you and sorry I disappeared at the end. Got carried away by thought of the world's longest pier and lost everyone with an attempt to chase the leading pack. Damn fool. Sat around near the pier waiting for a bit, had some chips and mushy peas and came home. Hope the sunshine cleared for a beer outside or if not, you cleared out the arcades.

Nat! how did we manage to lose you? I was following you up until about a mile from the seafront so I really don't know how this happened. Think we followed signs for the seafront, not the pier. Hope you had good chips. nice to meet you. next time maybe you'll make it for a beer after too.

Unsurprisingly, I had good fun guys, thanks to you all for tolerating my woeful unpreparedness, especially to andy for the tissues, banana, water and bike computer info. And boy was it worth going to work just to say to the crew 'oh, yeah, I just rode to southend this morning, as you do'. They nearly fell off their tripods in shock!

  • Hi all, well as promised here i am on the forum, seems as though my nickname has already been decided before i arrived!

Sorry about the quick exit yesterday, i'd broken a couple of spokes on the rear wheel, and wanted try and get some new ones by today or id be stuck having to walk places or rely on public transportfor a few days!

Got the train with roberto and mareeoh, then found a random bike shop on whitchapel, managed to get some new spokes, finally made it to sainsbury's at about 5, it ended up being about a 60 mile round trip just to get some eggs and bread!

Had such an awesome time, you guys are awesome, the story has resulted in several beers being bought for me already, i will definitely coming on some future rides!

hopefully i'll be a bit better prepared next time and not have to scrounge of you guys for water, biscuits etc, cambridge sounds great, count me in already!

  • awesome, another legend is born.

  • welcome the legend that is Sainsburys Ed, if you get the chance pop into one of the forum drinking sessions, south drinks are mondays, west drinks thursdays and east drinks alternate wednesdays. Talk bikes, drink some bevvies, and meet some more good people.
Look forward to buying you a drink sometime...

Ladies and Gentlemen, give a big hand to..... Sainsburys Ed

  • Thanks you lot! Mucho fun. Cheers to corny for chats and encouragement. Cheers to Seb for telling me I was so fucking slow. Good cop bad cop. Cheers to the train lot I was with for laughs. Cheers to all of you for being excellent.

Sainsbury's Ed, what a fucking legend. That's gotta be the best thing ever. When I spotted him, I just assumed he was late to meet at Brick Lane, and joined on cos he was waiting for us. A lot of us cheered and shouted 'Oi Oi Mornin' and he just got swept up with us, I don't think anyone knew he was a random until the chippy right?! Awe-fucking-some geezer. He's gonna be the star of this forum for ever...

Best saturday I've had in a loooong time.
