  • And I'd lose my way, never been East of Sadlers Wells.

  • or west of sadler's wells, you old ballerina you.

  • Hey. Will join you if that's cool and I'm right in thinking my original plan's just been cancelled. 9.00am at Brick Lane polo court right?

  • yep

  • coolio guys!
all my stuff is done for tomorrow!

just hope the alarmclook will work!!!

  • 50:14 Ride your road bike. I have never been east of Hackney.

  • hey guys have a good ride!
I'm sad to be missing it.

  • Totally stoked guys, see you in a bit.

  • Isn't it a 9am start... where the hell are you coming in from?

  • too excited to sleep, obviously

  • Have fun lads and ladets. Wish I could be there. I hate work.

  • you'd destroy us, you'd be there before we'd got to the end of victoria park.

  • Weather is looking good. The Sou Westerly will push us along nicely and it should stay dry till this afternoon, by which time we shall be tucking into the finest fish and chips this tiny island has to offer!

Oh yeah! See you all soon.

  • go go go!!! lets go! sunshine baby sunshine!!!

  • While I'm pissed (not the drunk kind). Partially 'cause I got up at 7am, but mostly 'cause I got up at 7am for no reason. I won't be making it this week either.

Have a fun and safe ride everyone.

  • Who is the guy on here who is always baking cakes and muffins and handing them round to people? Is he coming? I want a muffin!

  • Sorry to hear that Horatio. Is the arm still not 100%? I feel your pain, after looking forward to, then not making it to last week's ride.

Don't worry, I'm sure there are going to be plenty of more rides as summer rolls in. Get the arm better, and see if you can post a time at the East London drinks TT next time.

  • Yeah. I had one comfy position (comfy = painless) yesterday which I did about 15 miles on. Today, that position ain't so comfy anymore. I should have got Dr. Dogsballs to do some of his exercise physiology magic on it.

Anyway, ENJOY! The weather looks like it's pulled through!

  • in my way to brick lane!
    see u guys!!

shame for those who are not going anymore

  • ooh what a lovely morning. see you all soon.

  • cheers for the route mastery jonny and others- really beautiful ride. Great to meet the lot of you and sorry I disappeared at the end. Got carried away by thought of the world's longest pier and lost everyone with an attempt to chase the leading pack. Damn fool. Sat around near the pier waiting for a bit, had some chips and mushy peas and came home. Hope the sunshine cleared for a beer outside or if not, you cleared out the arcades.

  • it was an awesome ride, really. the route was great, lots of quiet roads, no scares, no nastiness, just lovely countryside, and some little inclines. the weather was phenomenal, started raining the minute we got into the chip shop, then later, the minute i got to my flat in peckham. unbelievable.

    nice chips too.

photos to follow in half an hour.

and as for ed - the guy who was off to sainsbury's in cambridge heath road, before opting for a detour to Southend, to find himself in the chip shop on the promenade saying 'this is by far the randomest thing i have ever done' - CHAPEAU to you.
