  • Any advice for a relative newbie is welcome. Looking for something off-the-peg for under £500 (£400 if possible) to use for commuting and having some fun...the options seem to be Charge Plug, Langster, Genesis Flyer and Pearson Touche (at a push). Any thoughts or other suggestions. Thanks in advance.

you cant beat the new fuji for £305 http://www.biddlebikes.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=321&products_id=162

use up your £200 change on an 18t-20t cog, front brakeset and powdercoating it to "2008 lfgss white" ;)

  • or new wheels.
    or get this :
    i would in your position

  • sht. that's dirt cheap. it's under 7kg! got the potential to look like an ultra modern hiphop slave bike like tynan's

  • precisely, and by far and away the best buy on the market for otp

  • I want that.

  • me too.

Wow, that is insane, £620 for a sub 16lb bike - pure mother fucking hip hop slavery !!!

I do not joke when I say that to pull a ridable bike under 16lbs even 5 years ago might have set you back a couple of grand at least.

Let the stamp of approval fall.

  • very funny.

  • i thought a pie hole was a mouth...

  • Isn't that a cake hole?

  • cultural difference perhaps?

  • me too.

I am totally gonna get one of those as well... Sprayed with black anti-radar paint and armed with the latest in Arrospok technology it will be my Ninja/Stealth bike... Shame you can't get the frameset separately... :/
Gonna 'convince' a friend to get it for me on the Ride To Work scheme...

Yes, you are right, but I am 're-purposing' the phrase - as a governmental spin mandarin might say.

You could always buy it, keep the frame and sell the parts you don't want while they are still brand new ?

If you're gonna do that go through wiggle and get this beast of a deal:
    link

    Such better componentry+ bike.
    (sugino 75 cranks for starters)

  • oh but so, so stylish.
I'm tempted to buy it (pay nothing now, no interest, pay off over a full year)
I absolutely love the bike. IMHO its second only in beauty to the Lavoro:

  • How much is 'webby' selling his Lavaro for ?

I love how 'Condor' has been reduced to red blocks - and the Condor eagle reduced to white blocks.

I'm not such a big fan of that frame, tho' it is a fantastic deal component-wise... The Fuji Pro's got a more angular 'stealth fighter' thing going, which I find irresistible... ;)
I'd keep the frame and shift everything else like Tynan says...
What kinda headset is on the Fuji Pro, will my 1 1/8" Chris King No-threadset fit on there?

  • its 1 1/8 threadless, so yeah probably...

    Not so fast Mr Brows.

The Fuji has an integrated headset - so your Chris King won't go.

I love integrated headsets, just pop them in by hand, none of that going to you LBS to use their headset press carry on.

  • But I love my Chris King no threadset! :(
So there's no chance of it working on a 1 1/8' headtube at all? I know nothing about integrated headsets... Will have to check Sheldon...
