That's what my girlfriend said that time I nearly drowned in the bath. Yep, rattle canned at home - the original rim was a DT Swiss RR 1.1 - which was sort of black but I am not sure whether it was anodized or paint ? Anyhow you need to sand the surface to give the primer a mechanical grip.

Looks like you did the whole thing - eyelets and all? Was that a problem when building it up? Did you mask anything?
